The Dixie District Career Academies provide students with a career related program that will prepare students not only for college, but also with the certifications that will allow students immediate employment in the workforce. We will encourage and guide each student in preparing for the next major steps in his or her life including further education, entry into an academy related career and to develop a compassionate, responsible citizen for the important roles as an adult.
This will be accomplished by treating students as capable, responsible, collaborative, lifelong learners and providing challenging, integrated, authentic, meaningful learning opportunities within and outside the school and by treating faculty as professionals fully empowered to work within the community and the local school district to make important decisions in the best interests of our students.
The School Board of Dixie County is committed to the principle and practice of equal opportunity and affirmative action. The School Board of Dixie County complies with the letter and spirit of federal, state, and local laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination and/or harassment based on race, color, religion, political affiliation, national origin, sex, disability, age, marital status or social and family background. Educational opportunities for students are provided under the principles of equal opportunity and affirmative action. A lack of English Language skills is not a barrier to admission in any program. Dixie District Schools' designee to coordinate compliance with the Educational Equity Act is: Karen Ganus, Director of Elementary and Secondary Education, 352-541-6339.
